È possibile importare le bibliografie salvati in file di vari formati solodopo aver opportunamente "etichettato" i dati e convertito il file finale in formato testo. Ogni formato prevede una procedura leggermente diversa e vi rinviamo alla guida per i dettagli specifici.
Esistono anche degli strumenti per la conversione automatica, disponibili in rete, che riescono in modo abbastanza efficace (anche se non affidabile al cento per cento) a convertire automaticamente le bibliografie da un formato testo a un formato importabile in RefWorks.

Una volta finito salva il file come file in formato testo (.txt) - Per importare il file, apri RefWorks » References » Import.
Seleziona "RefWorks Tagged Format" in Import Filter/Data Source e dai il comando Import
